RECALL!
PR Crisis Management for Child Nutrition Programs

  • Suitable for a Breakout Session (or as a General session or Keynote at a meeting specifically for administrators)
  • Primarily targeted at Directors, Supervisors, and other front-office staff, as well as regional, state, and local Child Nutrition Administrators.  Managers, Cooks, and Employees may enjoy and benefit from the session, too.
  • Session Length: 45-75 minutes

Session Description:

Word spreads of a national recall after disturbing violations at a large meat packing plant.  Jamie Oliver makes a big splash targeting school meals.  “Pink Slime” and “Spent Hens” enter the national conversation.  The New Regs are being rolled back . . . or are they?  When these PR crises materialized, how did your office respond?  What did we do right . . . and wrong?  What would we do differently next time?  This session uses examples from recent history to create a template for Crisis PR that will help us next time.  And this much you can be sure of:  there will be a next time!

Session Objectives:

Participants will learn proactive and reactive strategies for dealing with public relations crises that affect the child nutrition industry.

Participants will study several recent PR crises to illuminate good and bad responses to crisis PR situations.

Participants will leave better prepared to deal with the (inevitable) next PR crisis to affect child nutrition.
