Like to see an actual issue of Menu Magic?
OK, let's have a look at our big May/June 2012 issue.
This is the link that we sent our current subscribers to access the May and June 2012 files (please read the
info below first before going to the link, so you have a better idea of what everything is):
http://www.schoolmealsmarketing.com/May_June_2012_alyo.html
Go to the link and take a tour! Follow the instructions to save the User's Guide, and/or click on any of
the template or clipart pieces listed at the link to check out what you get.
The User's Guide helps you decide what files you need to save from our web site -- and the pictures in the User's Guide are "clickable" so that you can simply click on
a template or clipart image in the .pdf file and you will automatically be directed to the page on our web site
where you can download that file. (You can also choose, for a small additional charge, to have a
monthly CD sent to you containing all of the materials.)
Once you have opened the .pdf User's Guide, take the time to read it over. This will give
you a sense of just how many options you get with your monthly menus. Then, try clicking on a few of the
templates and clipart images -- they'll take you directly to the download page for whatever piece you click
on.
The files are posted in several different formats. Most of our subscribers use Microsoft Publisher to make their menus with Menu Magic. It's an easy-to-use
program that you may well already have installed on your computer, or you may be able to get it from your tech
department. We also sell it at an inexpensive price, if you'd like to buy it from us.
You can also use Menu Magic with Corel Draw, especially if you
already have Corel Draw or are comfortable learning a slightly more difficult program. Corel Draw
is the program we make all of the clipart in.
Whichever program you use with Menu Magic, we will send you some fonts to install on your computer (don't worry
-- that's easy to do with the instructions we provide, or call us and we'll step you through it). If
you save one of the files now and open it in Corel or Publisher, it may not look exactly the same as we designed
it, since you don't have the fonts yet.
At any rate, this should give you a good sense of what you get with your subscription and how you can
access the files you need to get started on your menu. Once you've chosen your templates, saved them,
and opened them, you will be ready to begin typing or pasting in your menu choices for the month.
It's that easy!
